BISCAYNE SIXTY
Miami, Florida · Studio projectA SMALL YACHT, FITTED LIKE A HOUSE.
Teak, walnut and linen aboard a sixty-foot motor yacht, with a salon furnished as a living room, a master cabin in walnut, and bronze wherever the hand falls.
An interior for a sixty-foot motor yacht based in Miami. The atelier held the vessel to the same restraint as a house on land: teak underfoot, walnut on the walls, linen on the seating and bronze at the hardware.
The palette is limited to four materials: a teak sole with black caulking, walnut bulkheads and cabinetry, oatmeal linen upholstery and brushed bronze fittings. Light runs in concealed coves, leaving the joinery to be seen.
Restraint in close quarters, where every surface is within reach. Proportion and joinery carry the design.
A calm room on the water, made by the same hand as the houses.
