A water park in the trees at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho: shaped pools, a ship to play on, cabanas, a splash pad and parking, all tied together by one loop of paths.
Keep the trees and lay the park between them. One walking loop links every pool, so the site reads as a garden with water in it.
Shaped pools with stone decks, timber cabanas with canvas tops, a ship set in the main pool, a splash play area, a themed entry and parking at the edge, set out on a site and landscape plan.
A wooded site and a family program: pools for every age, shade, food and parking, without clearing the trees.
Families move from pool to pool in the shade, and the cars stay at the edge.
