COLLEYVILLE GARDEN
Colleyville, Texas · Studio projectA FRONT THAT WELCOMES, A GARDEN BEHIND.
Front beds, a curved walk, a glass greenhouse and a pool terrace for a brick house in Colleyville.
Concept
Frame the house with its old trees and low beds in front; give the back a greenhouse and a terrace by the water.
Structure
Curved planting beds with clean edges, a stepping stone path, an aluminum and glass greenhouse against the garden wall, a pool and a raised spa with stone coping.
Challenge
Mature trees to keep, a brick wall to plant against and a back yard cut up by the pool.
Result
The front reads calm from the street, and the back works as rooms: the greenhouse, the lawn and the water.
