POSSUM KINGDOM HOUSE
Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas · Studio projectA LIMESTONE HOUSE AT THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF.
Limestone and dark cedar, held low to the ground, with a terrace cantilevered over the drop and the lake below.
A lake house on the cliffs of Possum Kingdom, set along the edge rather than above it. Limestone from the site, dark cedar, and glass only where the view deserves it. The terrace extends beyond the rock, so the deck ends in open air.
Limestone bearing walls and a steel-framed cantilevered terrace over the cliff edge. A low standing seam roof with deep overhangs, cedar soffits, and a long dock down the rock with low lighting.
Building on a cliff without contesting it. Every wall lands on rock that was already there, so the house belongs to the edge rather than sitting on top of it.
A long, low house that settles into the rock by day and glows along the cliff at night, with the lake reflecting every light.
